As a kid I had a great POG collection. As a matter of fact I kept just one all these years, and it’s taped to my monitor at work. Other things I’ve collected over the years include slap bracelets, Troll dolls, and Garbage Pail Kid cards (still have those!).
So fess up. What did you collect?

As a relatively new mom (of a 6 month old) I’m already starting to think about healthy eating as I weigh the benefits of making my own baby food (with what time?!) and buying Gerber Organics versus regular Stage 1 foods. Of course I want to raise a healthy eater and I figure starting off right is the best way to go. That means my husband and I are going to have to part with some bad snack foods… we have to be good role models! But a little cheating is ok too in my book… I need some candy to remain sane!

So the other night I had a complicated dream that there was a donkey in my parents’ shower (the shower that has been nonfunctional for over a decade). The problem was that I couldn’t get the donkey out of the shower, because it couldn’t really fit on the right angle to get out of the shower door. And it was MY donkey (?!?!). So that night I mention this wacky dream to my husband and he says, “Oh! So that must be why you told me to watch out for the donkey in the shower when I got up this morning.” He gets up at 4:45 am so I guess I was still dreaming.
I can’t even imagine what this dream could mean…

My baby girl does not get enough sleep. At least, not enough during the time that I would like to be sleeping. I have friends whose children were sleeping 12 hours per night from 3 months old. Last night, Lena slept from 8:30 to 4:00, Then 4:20 to 5:30. Then 7:30 to 8:30. If she could just fill in those gaps with sleep, maybe I wouldn’t have circles under my eyes!

My baby, my little bitty baby, has just started eating cereal! She is already 4 1/2 months old, which I CANNOT believe, and now she is eating with a spoon. Granted I’m the one wielding the spoon and the cereal is watered down with formula to near liquid texture but still! We have to put the high chair together because she doesn’t want to recline while eating. She keeps leaning forward while I’m feeding her. She must have abs of steel by now the way she holds herself at that 45 degree angle.

Sorry I haven’t blogged in awhile. Since starting back at work full time life has gotten to be pretty darn hectic. Last week was my first full week back and leaving Lena to go into the city is stressful. I know she is in good hands but I miss her SO much! At least I can work from home 2 days per week so I can peek in on her now and then and cover her in hugs and kisses if I feel like it.

I’m already hard at work on Toy Book’s Toy Fair issue. The emails are rolling in faster than I can keep up, so there are going to be a lot of hot new toys in this issue!
Lena is still trying to get used to a bottle. She needs a bit more practice before I can leave her for a full day. Poor little peanut.

I am sick! I have a terrible cold, and since I’m breastfeeding, I can’t take anything for it. Argh. The best thing I have is a box of Puffs with Vicks scent, which is amazing. I highly recommend it! Besides napping and eating chicken soup in my pjs, my only other goal is to finish the cover to our November/December issue.

We are gearing up to release the November/December issue of The Toy Book online. This is the first time we will be launching an entire issue online and it’s kind of exciting. I’m hoping that people will find this to be an easy way to access our content and to have it at their fingertips, just a click away!
